Camp Tule
An Exciting Summer Camp for Children Along the Laguna

Located at the Laguna Environmental Center in Santa Rosa, CA, Camp Tule is a nature-based day camp for children and offered for two age groups: ages 6–9 and 10–12. Each camp day (9-3, M-F) is spent outdoors and filled with exploration, discovery, creativity, and nature games all designed to connect children to the environment.

Camp Tule is a place where children are given space to nurture their creativity and spend time exploring and playing in nature. Each new day is filled wit exciting discoveries like “catching” animal footprints in track boxes that the children make, spotting barn owls, egret, deer, jackrabbit, kingfisher, and red-tailed hawk, and playing lots of nature games that teach ecological concepts. What would an adventure day be without climbing trees? We do that, too!

Children attending Camp Tule learn about the native plants and animals of the Laguna de Santa Rosa ecosystem in a supportive and encouraging environment.

At Camp Tule, we aim to foster wonder and delight in the world we live in.

Camp Tule Staff

We hire enthusiastic youth and young adults to serve as Naturalist field instructors and Camp Counselors. Our staff include spanish speaking adults and teens, ensuring a welcoming environment for all campers. Camp Tule also recruits youth who want to gain leadership experience by volunteering at camp as Counselors-in-Training. Naturalists, Counselors, and Counselors-in-Training round out our education department staff, including Education Director, Christine Fontaine, and Environmental Educator, Carlos Barragan, along with some of our skilled, knowledgeable, and dedicated Learning Laguna docents.
